13 Passengers Burnt To Death In Enugu Auto Crash

No fewer than 13 passengers were torched beyond recognition in an auto crash close to the Four-Corners Enugu around 9 pm on Sunday.

The road mishap occurred when a 14-seater bus which was traveling from Imo State to Adamawa, ran into a trainer before catching fire.

Reports say all the passengers except one were burnt beyond recognition in the road mishap which took place at the Enugu axis of the Enugu/Port Harcourt expressway.  

It was gathered that only one passenger survived the accident, with different accounts of how he survived. While one version has it that he was rescued by sympathizers, another said he escaped through the window.

The survivor is receiving treatment at the Emergency Unit of the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, UNTH, Ituku-Ozalla.
