Court Sentences YPP Guber Candidate To 42 Years Jail Term For Fraud
Bassey Albert, the governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party, YPP, has been sentenced to 42 years in prison by an Akwa Ibom federal high court for fraud.
Albert was arraigned in 2019 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a six-count charge of allegedly taking possession of six vehicles valued at N204 million when he was Akwa Ibom State finance commissioner.
He reportedly obtained one of the cars from Jide Omokore, an associate of Diezani Alison Madueke, former minister of petroleum.

It was gathered that Omokore had dealings with the oil-rich state when he gave Bassey the vehicle.
