Breaking: FG Reopens NYSC Orientation Camp

  The Federal Government on Thursday announced the re-opening of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camps across the country. The Minister of Youths and Sports, Sunday Dare made the announcement via Twitter adding that the orientation camps are scheduled for reopening on November 10. “The Resumption of the NYSC Orientation Camp for prospective Youth Corpers has been approved and opens on November 10th, 2020. Full COVID-19 Protocols will be enforced,” Dare posted on his official Twitter handle.

The recruitment which is under the Edo Supporting Teachers to Achieve Results (EdoSTAR) Teaching Fellowship Programme will be spread across the state’s three senatorial districts. The EdoSTAR Teaching Fellowship Programme is a three-year intensive training and field experience employment programme for teachers and aspiring teachers who will subsequently be transited into the Edo State Civil Service upon satisfactory job performance.   Some states that have been unable to complete the recruitment process of artisans for the 774,000 Special Public Works (SPW) programme of the Federal Government have been granted one week extension. The United Nations (UN) cautions that Africa and the rest of the world could witness a “generational catastrophe” due to the closure of schools around the world amid the COVID-19 scare.
