Voters Registration Can’t be Extended – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, made it clear on Friday that there would not be any further extension for the Continuous Voters Registration, CVR. The commission suspended the Continuous Voters Registration on Sunday, 31st of July, and Nigerians have demanded that the deadline should be extended but the commission is still adamant about the suspension. INEC: New Voters Registrations Hit 10.4 million

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) disclosed that the registrations of Nigerians in the Continuous Voters Registration hit 10.4 million. The commission also stated that a total of 11 million registrants had their registration completed as of Tuesday. It was also revealed that 3.3 million of the registrants requested their registration online while 7.6 million registrants went for physical registration. The commission also gave a gender analysis of registrants as 5,453,071 males and 5,558,048 females out of which 80,101 are persons with disabilities, completed their registration. CVR Surge: INEC Deploys More Machines In S’East, Lagos, Kano

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said it has received reports from States indicating an unprecedented surge in the number of citizens wishing to register as voters and the challenges they face across the country.  Accordingly, the commission said it has released more machines to address the development.
