Gov Ugwuanyi Imposes Curfew

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has imposed a curfew on the Oruku Community, in Nkanu East Local Government Area of the State. The action followed the crisis that greeted the murder of the traditional ruler of the Oruku community, HRH Igwe Emmanuel Chidiebere Mba, on December 26, 2020, which is subject of an ongoing Judicial Commission of Injury, and the recent gruesome murder of the Vice-Chairman of Oruku Town Union Caretaker Committee, Chief Samuel Ani. Governor Sani Bello of Niger State has debunked speculations that about 42 persons kidnapped by bandits from the Government Science College, Kagara, in the state have been released. Speculations on Sunday night suggested that the schoolchildren have been set free. A member of the Oyo State Network Agency, Operation Amotekun, has allegedly shot and injured a police officer, identified as Fatai Yekini. reports say Yekini who is a special police constable attached to Ojongbodu Police Station, was shot at the Sanga area in Oyo town on Sunday by the Amotekun officer, Ibrahim Ogundele, Punch reports. The Rivers State Command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has nabbed three suspects for allegedly detonating explosives at a church, located at Mile 3, Diobu area of Port Harcourt. The church, Christian Universal Church International is reported to be owned by the father of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
