Mbaka apologises to Bishop, Catholic Church

Fiery Enugu Catholic Priest, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, has apologised to the Catholic church over the attack and destruction of the Enugu Catholic Diocese Bishop’s Court and Holy Ghost Cathedral in Enugu. Gunmen Kill 3 Custom Personnel in Rivers, Raid Military Checkpoint

Unidentified gunmen have reportedly killed three officials of Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, in Isiokpo community in the Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State. Prior to killing the NCS operatives, attacked a military checkpoint within Omuaga axis of Elele-Owerre, close to the Port Harcourt International Airport, Daily Post reports. There is currently tension in Aba commercial town in Abia State, over sounds of gunshots at the police area command, Daily Trust reports. Residents were going about their normal activities when suddenly security operatives started shooting sporadically. All roads around the police command have been barricaded and residents have been ordered back to their houses. Some unknown gunmen have invaded the Mbieri Divisional Police Headquarters in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State. The attack occurred around 1 am and the gunmen released the suspects in custody in the police facility, Punch reports. Reports also say the gunmen carted away phones belonging to suspects and the police operatives at the Division. How Gunmen Freed Scores of Inmates at Imo Prison

Thousands of inmates have been reportedly freed at the headquarters of the Nigerian Correctional Service, NCS, Owerri the Imo State capital by a yet to be identified gunmen in the wee hours of Monday. The assailants also stormed the nearby office of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) of the state police command, releasing suspects there as well. Reports say the gunmen set razed all the cars parked at the command headquarters and freed all the suspects in almost all the cells at the SCID. According to SaharaReporters, the gunmen operated in over 10 vehicles, and also attacked soldiers stationed at Umuorji along Owerri–Onitsha Expressway.
