First Batch of Nigerians Arrive From Ukraine

The first batch of Nigerians stranded in Ukraine has arrived in the country. They arrived from Romania on Friday morning. Canada Lifts Travel Restriction On Nigeria, South Africa, Others

Canada has lifted the travel ban on foreign travellers from Nigeria and nine other African countries. This was disclosed by the country's Health Minister, Jean-Yves Duclos, at a news conference on Friday. Asides Nigeria, the travel restriction on flights was also lifted on South Africa, Mozambique, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini, Namibia, Malawi and Egypt. We Won’t Reverse Travel Ban Over FG’s Threat – UK

The British High Commission on Sunday said the United Kingdom would not reverse its travel ban on Nigeria because of a threat of retaliation by the Federal Government. The spokesman for the British High Commission, Dean Hurlock, said this in response to an inquiry by The PUNCH on Sunday over a statement by the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, that the UK, Canada and Saudi Arabia would be put on Nigeria’s travel ban on Tuesday. Dubai Travel: Emirates Airline To Resume Flights To Nigeria

Emirates will resume its passenger operations between Dubai and Nigeria from December 5, 2021, the Dubai-based airline announced on Thursday. Emirates will operate to and from its Nigerian gateways with daily flights, providing travellers from Nigeria convenient access to Dubai. It will also enable travellers to connect via Dubai to the Emirates network of over 120 global destinations, Kjaleej Times reports. Emirates will operate to Abuja with EK 785 and 786. Aviation Fuel Price Rises By 70%, International Airlines May Raise Fares

The International Air Transport Association has said the price of jet fuel has continued to increase in recent weeks, with its price increasing by 70 per cent since the start of 2021. According to IATA, the Switzerland-based trade organisation representing over 290 international airlines, the increase in Jet A1 price is putting pressure on airlines’ operating costs and threatening the industry’s profitability. IATA said jet fuel price continued to trend upwards in recent weeks as economic activity restarted around the world and supply remained tight. A staff member of Arik Airlines has been arrested by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) for allegedly soliciting bribe from a passenger at the general aviation terminal in Lagos. This was disclosed by Henrietta Yakubu, General Manager, Corporate Affairs of FAAN, in a statement in Lagos on Tuesday.
