Nnamdi Kanu: There’s Nonexistence of Repentant Terrorists, Not Even Pantami

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has alleged that terrorism is an Islamic ideology, hence there are no repentant terrorists. He made the remark in reaction to alleged ties of the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami, with terrorism, SaharaReporters reports. BBOG Releases Names of 112 Chibok Schoolgirls Still Held Captive

The Bring Back Our Girls movement has released a list bearing the names of all the girls still held captive by the terror group, Boko Haram after their kidnap on April 14, 2014. The list was released by the Lagos chapter of BBOG during a sit-out in Ikoyi to mark the seventh anniversary of the kidnap, Punch reports. Lear Sharibu along with 275 other girls were abducted from their school while preparing for final year examinations. After seven years, 164 were said to have regained freedom. PDP Asks DSS to Investigate Pantami Over Taliban, Al-Qaeda Links

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has asked the Department of State Services, DSS, to as a matter of urgency, invite and probe the minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, over alleged ties with the Taliban and Al-Qaeda. Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Isa Pantami has renounced his radical comments on terrorist groups including Taliban and Al-Qaeda. Presidency Reaffirms July Delivery of Six Super Tucano

The Federal Government has restated its commitment to end insurgency in the country. The Presidency said the fight against insecurity will be revved up soon with the expected arrival of six Super Tucano light attack aircraft from the United States (U.S.) mid-July. Already, Nigerian Air Force (NAF) 14 personnel are in  Georgia, U.S. for training on how to deploy the jets. The Nigerian Air Force has debunked claims by Boko Haram terrorists that it shot down the missing NAF 476 Alpha Jet, which remains uncounted for after it went off the radar in Borno State. National Security Adviser Major General Babagana Monguno (rtd) has disclosed that the federal government is not aware of how monies meant for the purchase of arms were spent under the immediate past Service Chiefs. He also stated that government cannot also trace the arms claimed to have been bought. Monguno, who made the disclosures in an interview with Hausa service of the BBC, explained the new Service Chiefs also said they have not seen the arms bought by their predecessors.
