Nigerians Without NIN Won’t Get Passports, Driving Licence – NCC

The Nigerian Communications Commission says the October 31 deadline for linking their National Identity Numbers with their Subscriber Identity Modules remains sacrosanct. It also said that Nigerians without NIN would soon be denied the opportunity of acquiring driving licences and passports. The commission said at the NCC Digital Signature radio program, which transmitted the second episode of Telecoms Consumer Town Hall on Radio (live on a radio station in Lagos to discuss the benefits of NIN-SIM integration. Twitter Suspension: Lai Mohammed Says 7 Of FG’s 10 Requests Have Been Met

Nigeria expects to lift its ban on Twitter before the end of the year, Information Minister, Lai Mohammed, told Reuters on Thursday, adding that the government was awaiting a response on three final requests made of the social media platform. Mohammed said the government had reached agreements on seven of 10 requests made to Twitter but was waiting for the company’s response on final issues, including setting up a local office, paying tax locally and cooperating with the government to regulate content and harmful tweets. “We certainly want to put this behind us before the end of the year,” Mohammed said. The Federal Government has once more postponed the deadline for NIN-SIM data verification to October 31, 2021. This was contained in a joint statement by the Director, Public Affairs Nigerian Communications Commission, Ikechukwu Adinde; and the Head, Corporate Communications, Nigeria Identity Management Commission, Kayode Adegoke, titled ‘FG Extends NIN-SIM verification deadline to 31st October, 2021′. Twitter Ban: SERAP Sues FG, Lai Mohammed Over Directive to Broadcasters

The CEO of IPI solutions disclosed this on Wednesday morning on his Facebook handle. Garba posted, “They’ve taken down my Instagram account too.
