National Grid Restored After Partial Collapse – TCN

The National Grid has been fully restored by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) after the reports of its partial collapse on Monday. She revealed the partial collapse of the national grid occurred at about 10.51 am. Mbah noted a sudden drop in the system frequency resulted in the partial collapse of the grid. The restoration of the grid commenced immediately at 11.55 am in the affected areas, which were Osogbo, Ihovbor, Jebba, Osogbo, Kainji, Jebba, Benin, Onitsha, Shiroro, Kaduna, Shiroro, Katampe, and Alaoji, Ikot-Ekpene. National Grid Collapse: TNC Offers Update

Following the collapse of the national grid on Wednesday, the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, has said that the repair is at the final stages. This was disclosed by the TCN General Manager, Public Affairs, Mrs. Ndidi Mbah, in a statement issued to journalists. According to Mbah, although the national grid experienced challenges around 11:27a.m on Wednesday, the repair was at the final stages as at 11:0p.m. She said, “The incident was as a result of a sudden drop in system frequency from 49.94 Hertz (HZ) to 47.36Hz, which created system instability,” she said.
