State Police Can be Created within 10 Days – Ekweremadu

Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Committee on Electoral Reforms and Constitutional Amendment, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, on Thursday, said, with the right political will in place, Nigeria can have state police within ten days. He said this in an address during the inauguration of the committee at the PDP National Headquarters, in Abuja. If Colombia can Have State Police, Why Not Nigeria – Obasanjo

Olusegun Obasanjo, a former President of Nigeria has lent his voice to the call for state police, saying it will make the establishment of Amotekun unnecessary. Obasanjo though agreed that there were different views on restricting, said devolution of powers, responsibilities and resources had become necessary to allow for healthy competition among states.
