Sports: Liverpool Signs Alisson Becker from Roma for £67 million

Liverpool has finally signed Roma's Brazilian goal stopper, Alisson Becker for £67 million. With Roma and Liverpool agreeing to the terms of the deal, Becker is now expected to fly to Liverpool to finalize the deal. Confirming the move, the goalkeeper has already thanked Roma fans, telling them that it was time for a new adventure. Becker will now replace Loris Karius who joined Liverpool in 2016. Many will remember him for his awful outing during the final stages of the Champion's league.

Belgium won the third place position this evening after beating England 2:0. The Belgians showed their intent with a 4th minute goal tapped in by Meunier. Croatia this evening sailed into the finals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup after winning England 2:1 after extra time. Despite taking an early lead through a 5th minute Trippier goal, England gave up their lead in 68th minute when Perisic stabbed in Croatia's equalizer from a cross. After the game was levelled, Croatia had more chances to bury the game, with Ivan Perisic's shot hitting the inside of the upright. Premiership champions Manchester City has finally signed Riyad Mahrez from Leicester for £60 million on a 5-year deal. This amount is about €68m or $80m. The signing finally put to rest the transfer saga that started in January which even saw the player boycotting some training sessions for his now former club. World Cup: Russia’s World Cup Ends as they Lose 3:4 on Penalties to Croatia

Despite scoring the first goal of the match, hosts Russia lost the game 3:4 on penalties to Croatia. The Brazilian team were this evening knocked out at the quarter finals of the World Cup after they lost 1:2 to Belgium. A 13th minute own goal by Fernandinho set the Belgians on course for the win. De Bruyne fired in the second for the Belgians in the 31 minutes, bringing the score to 2:0 which was how the first half ended. In the second half, Brazil made some changes and began to make a greater impact on the game. Their effort was rewarded in the 76th when Augusto nodded in a well placed Coutinho pass. Augusto missed another clear chance to bring the game level, as did Coutinho some minutes later. With this win, Belgium will now face France in the semi finals.
