Lalong Apologises To Catholic Bishops Over Pope Comment
Governor Simon Lalong, the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Campaign Council, has apologised to the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, CBCN, over his inciting remarks about the Holy Father, Pope Francis.
The Plateau State Governor admitted that he erred to have linked the Catholic Pope with Nigeria’s politics.
He begged for forgiveness from the Catholic Church through the Bishops’ conference.
Lalong’s comments had elicited backlash from Christians, some of whom demanded his immediate suspension from the Church.
