More than 2,000 terrorists were reported to have surrendered and branded ‘repentant’ by the Army, claiming adherence to international laws relating to ‘enemies willing to surrender’. Some Nigerians have kicked against the de-radicalisation and rehabilitation initiative for the insurgents by the Nigerian army under the Safe Corridor programme. Speaking on Saturday after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, in Abuja, Ndume maintained that the former insurgents cannot be let o...

Ejiofor, in a statement on Friday, said the secret police denied himself and other lawyers including “IPOB’s Attorney in the United States, Bruce Fein”, from meeting with Kanu. Amnesty International Sides With Terrorists – Presidency

The Presidency has accused Amnesty International, a non-governmental organisation that fights abuses, of being an ally of terror groups rather than foreground the liberty of terror victims. The Nigerian government also said the group has no legal right to exist in Nigeria. Garba Shehu, media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari in a statement criticized Amnesty International over its ‘support’ for pro-secession groups like IPOB.
