John Campbell, a former United States Ambassador to Nigeria, fears the new Super Tucano fighter jets Nigeria bought may be hijacked by bandits and terrorists. Mr Campbell relates his prediction to the fall of the Afghanistan government and the takeover of similar high-grade military jet fighter by the Talibans. The Afghan government had also acquired 23 Super Tucanos from US to combat the Talibans but with the collapse of the Afghan government and the fall of Kabul, not all of the aircraft have been accounted for. The Government of Kaduna State has announced a ban on the transportation of livestock to other states. This was contained in a statement by Samuel Aruwan, State Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs on Thursday. He said, “After wide consultations and series of thorough security reviews, the Kaduna State Government has banned the transportation of livestock from the state to other states in the country.” He said the ban also prohibited the transportation of livestock into Kaduna State from other states, saying both bans took immediate effect. According to him, the government also wishes to reiterate that the transportation of donkeys into the state is a criminal offence and anyone found engaging in this will be prosecuted accordingly.
