The Nigerian Red Cross Society has trained over 20 selected Red Cross volunteers in Enugu State on COVID-19 risk communication and community engagement. The two-day training which was supported by the International Federation of the Red Cross had volunteers from Enugu North, Enugu East and Nkanu West local government areas of the state. Yello Fever: Red Cross Trains 140 on Risk Communication

Following the outbreak of yellow fever in Enugu State, the Nigerian Red Cross Society has trained over 140 volunteers of the organisation in the state on yellow fever risk communication. Relocate Upland to Safer Ground, Red Cross Tells Residents of Flood Prone Communities as NiMet Raises Flood Alert

The Nigerian Red Cross Society, Enugu Chapter has asked residents of flood prone areas in Enugu State to relocate to safer ground as it aims to avert loss of lives and properties in the event of flood. The call was made when the group embarked on a sensitization campaign in Enugu along with other stakeholders to educate the residents on flood preparedness, mitigation and response. It comes after predictions by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) that 2020 will witness heavy rainfall with potential flood.
