Mass Rally Demanding President Ibrahim Boubacar’s Resignation Continues in Mali
Opposition protesters in Mali turned up en masse in the streets of Bamako, the nation’s capital, demanding the resignation of President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita on Friday.
Opposition leaders in Mali had made several calls accusing the president of neglecting the countries array of problems.
One of such protesters, Bintou expressed desire for the president to vacate office: “We are here tonight to put an end to corruption, to put an end to demagoguery, to put an end to this dying power that is no longer capable of educating our children, giving us health, equipping our army.
“Imagine in a country where the money intended to equip the army to protect the nation is misappropriated. This regime must be stopped. IBK (Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta) must go.”
