Power Generation Drops By 1,119.6MW, Sector’s Growth Falls By 45%

Nigeria’s power sector decreased in growth by 45 per cent in real term in the third quarter of this year when compared to the preceding quarter, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed. Blackout in Kaduna, Sokoto, Others as Power Grid Collapses

The power grid in the country collapsed once again on Sunday, leading to total blackouts for several hours in parts of the nation, African News Today has gathered. This was announced by two of the power distribution companies in the country, Kaduna Electric, and Eko Electricity Distribution Company. Announcing the national grid collapse, Kaduna Electric in a post on its Twiter handle said, “We regret to inform you that the loss of power supply in our franchise – Kaduna, Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states – is as a result of the collapse of the national grid.
