Breaking News: Osinbajo Sacks DSS Chief

The Nigerian Acting President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has dismissed the Director General of the DSS. Mr. Lawal Musa Daura. The news was broken a few moments ago by the Senior Special Assistant-Media and Publicity to the Vice President Laolu Akande. In a tweet posted this afternoon, Mr Akande said "AgP Yemi Osinbajo has directed the termination of the appointment of the DG of the DSS, Mr. Lawal Musa Daura. Mr. Daura has been directed to hand over to the most senior officer of the State Security Service until further notice." This may not be unconnected with the incident this morning where the DSS laid siege on the National Assembly complex, preventing honorable members and their staff from gaining access.
