COVID-19: Oyo Govt. Shuts Down University

The Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force has issued a directive to the management of workplaces, schools, and religious centres to ensure strict compliance with the COVID-19 protocols to curtail the spread of the disease. The Task Force, in a statement signed by Taiwo Adisa, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seyi Makinde, indicated that the directive became necessary following the discovery of a COVID-19 case in a tertiary institution in the state. Oyo Schools Resumption: Laudable or Laughable?

The Federal government of Nigeria had on 29 June, 2020 permitted the resumption of schools by students in graduating classes to enable them adequately prepare for examinations. It came as part of guidelines to ensure gradual easing of the lockdown that was imposed across Nigeria to control the spread of novel COVID-19 virus which has forced closure of schools at all levels since March. Oyo Revokes Parcels of Land in Agodi, Jericho GRA over Alteration of Land Use, others

The government of Oyo State has approved the revocation of some plots of land located within the Agodi Government Reservation Area (GRA) and Jericho area of Ibadan. The revocation order, which was dated February 10, 2020, indicated that the affected plots of land were revoked for overriding public interest and for the use of the State Government.
