Osun State Government Debunks Stopping Payment of Allocation to Local Government Accounts

The government of Gboyega Oyetola of Osun state has debunked rumours that the state government has stopped direct payment of monthly allocations to the accounts of local governments in the state. This was disclosed by Prince Adebayo Adeleke, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in a statement. He said reports of the state asking banks to cease direct payment to Local Governments Councils in the state are baseless and reiterated Osun government’s commitment to Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) guidelines and regulations. Osun State Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola has urged members of the Nigeria Union Of Journalists (NUJ) to ceaselessly embrace the concept of responsible, investigative and developmental Journalism in the discharge of their duties.
