Femi Fani-Kayode has described Iyiola Omisore's decision to support the APC in today's supplementary election as shameful. Fani-Kayode had stated days earlier that Omisore was his cousin and he had spoken to him. He was assured that Omisore will support the PDP. He had tweeted "Iyiola Omisore will not let us down. The gubernatorial election held in Osun State on Saturday has once again brought up the issue of the Independent National Electoral Commission's powers to declare an election as "inconclusive" and the circumstances under which it could so declare. The Peoples Democratic Party and other stakeholders protested on Sunday after the Independent National Electoral Commission declared the Osun State governorship election inconclusive. The commission also fixed the rerun poll in the seven polling units where election result was cancelled for Thursday, September 27, 2018.
