ABIA: Ikpeazu Under Pressure To Speak On Alleged Plot To Impeach Deputy

Okezie Ikpeazu Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State appears to be under pressure over alleged moves to impeach his deputy, Ude Oko Chukwu, as the immediate- past Secretary to the Government, SSG, Dr Eme Okoro, has challenged him to personally address Abians on the issue. Abia state governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has urged The Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) to tone down its agitations saying the lockdown enforced in most south Eastern states today, August 9 is detrimental to Igbo people. A statement by Commissioner for Information, John Okiyi-Kalu, condemned the recent destruction of farmlands by cows grazing openly in violation of extant laws. The Bill which was passed by Abia State House of Assembly during the Tuesday plenary session of the House was presented to the Governor by the Clerk of the House, Sir John Pedro Irokansi in his Aba residence on Tuesday night where he endorsed the N131,852,752,000.00 (One Hundred and Thirty One Billion, Eight Hundred and Fifty Two Million, Seven Hundred and Fifty Two Thousand Naira Only) Budget made up of N69bn for capital expenditure and N62.8bn for recurrent expenditure.
