The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene in the court case of former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu who is being tried in the United Kingdom over allegation of organ harvest of one David Nwamini. Ohanaeze made the call in a statement issued on Sunday titled, ‘Ekweremadu: Ohanaeze disagrees with Malami, calls for FG’s intervention’ signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Dr Alex Ogbonnia. Ohanaeze Ndigbo Reacts To Alleged Call To Impeach Osinbajo

Apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has reacted to speculations that the group called for the inclusion of Vice-president Yemi Osinbajo among those to be served impeachment notice by the Senate. Ohanaeze Ndigbo in a statement issued by its spokesman, Alex Ogbonnia, debunked the claim, saying it never made any such call. Recall that the Nigerian Senate had threatened to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari over the spate of insecurity in the country. Ohanaeze Ndigbo Faction Seeks Court Restrain Order Against Obiozor Led Faction

A faction of the apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, led by Uche Okwukwu, has asked a High Court sitting in Abuja to restrain Professor George Obiozor, who was elected by the Nnia Nwodo-led Ohanaeze from parading himself as the President General or be jailed. Recall that Obiozor who was an erstwhile Nigerian ambassador to the United State, Israel and Cyprus, was elected President of the group at the Dan Anyim Stadium in Owerri, Imo State on January 10.
