Okowa Likely to be Announced Atiku’s Running Mate

As Atiku, the Presidential candidate for the PDP, prepares to officially announce his running mate, news trickling in suggests that the announcement may shock many. It was almost a foregone conclusion that Atiku's running mate would be Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State. Wike was very vocal and confident prior to the convention in which Atiku emerged the party's flagbearer. Wike had boasted that he was sure to clinch the party's presidential ticket. Wike Has Not Been Chosen as Atiku’s VP – PDP

Contrary to speculations that have been making the rounds, the publicity secretary of the PDP has stated categorically that Nyesom Wike has not been chosen as Atiku's VP. It is common knowledge that the PDP is looking for a strong Southern candidate who will be able to draw significant votes from the South in the coming elections. Atiku: Dino Melaye Speaks On Tambuwal Betraying Wike During PDP Primaries

Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye has dismissed claims that Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State betrayed his Rivers counterpart, Nyesom Wike during the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, primary election. Tambuwal had withdrawn from the presidential race and supported former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar. Tambuwal’s action is widely believed to have led to Atiku clinching the party’s presidential ticket. The Waziri of Adamawa polled 371 votes to defeat Wike who had 237 votes, and Saraki with 70. But, Wike had accused Tambuwal, delegates, and governors of betraying him during the convention. Wike imposes Curfew on Rivers’ Boundaries

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has imposed night curfew on  the borders Rivers shares with Abia, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa and Imo states, following recent attacks and killings of security operatives  by  gunmen. The governor in a broadcast on Tuesday, said the curfew would take effect from today by 8pm. Wike Backs Obaseki on N60 Billion New Notes Printing

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State says the claim by his Edo state counterpart, Godwin Obaseki that the Nigerian Government printed about N60 billion to share to the federating units in March cannot be regarded as spurious. The governor has therefore challenged the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to unequivocally declare if money was printed or not.
