NLC Seeks FG Intervention In ASUU Strike 

ASUU The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called on the Federal Government to address issues that necessitated the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and other unions in tertiary institutions. Kogi Workers Give Government 14-day Ultimatum Over Minimum Wage

Organised labour in Kogi has issued a 14-day ultimatum to the state government to implement the N30,000 new minimum wage or face an indefinite strike action. Addressing journalists in Lokoja, the state capital, on Friday, shortly after the meeting of labour leaders, Kogi State Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress, Onuh Edoka, lamented that the current administration in the state led by Governor Yahaya Bello had not added any value to workers since it came on board in 2016. NCL Issues December Deadline For Implementation Of Electricity Tariff Reduction Agreement

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NCL, has demanded that the Federal Government should implement the electricity tariffs reduction agreement by December. The congress in its notice to the government to reduce electricity tariffs by N15 per kilowatt-hour cautioned that it would not accept the serial violations of agreements. FG, Labour to Meet Thursday Over Strike Action to Protest Electricity Tariff, Fuel Price Hike

The Federal Government is set to meet with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), and Trade Union Congress (TUC), on Thursday in an attempt to avert the planned indefinite strike by the organised labour to protest the spike in electricity tariff and fuel pump price. This was disclosed on Wednesday by Charles Akpan, Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment in an email. He said the meeting will serve as an avenue for FG to roll out its palliative plans.
