Shagari’s Grandson Reacts to Kano Blasphemy Sentence, Asks Christians Not to interfere in Islamic Affairs

Shehu Shagari’s grandson, Bello Shagari has reacted to the sentencing of a musician to death in Kano for blaspheming Prophet Muhammad, asking Christians not to interfere in Islamic affairs. Shagari disclosed this while reacting to the Upper Sharia Court’s judgement in Kano which sentenced a musician, Yahaya Sharif-Aminu to death for blaspheming Prophet Muhammad. Protesters set Sharif-Aminu’s ablaze in March 2020 after he was accused of blasphemy. Shagari was quoted by Sahara Reporters to have said, “Muslims should focus on their Islam, Christians should focus on their Christianity and disbelievers should focus on their disbelief. Everyone should practise what they believe. No belief should bother another in anyway and anyone who does so, has intruded. Fact! Peace.” However, whe...

Fani-Kayode Threatens to Quit PDP in Solidarity with Gov Ayade

Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation, has threatened to quit the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in solidarity with Cross River State governor, Ben Ayade if the party takes away its structure from the governor. The National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP postponed the State congress of the party initially scheduled for August 8 over what reports attribute to lack of agreement between stakeholders in the state to arrive at consensus candidates to occupy various positions. Governor Ayade is speculated to be at loggerheads with some party chieftains over who controls the soul of the party ahead of 2023 election. Fani-Kayode reacted to the disagreement on Wednesday through his verified twitter handle, @realFFK by saying that he will dump the party along with other stalwarts ...

Opinion: The Deceit Of Amending the Null and Void 1999 Nigeria Constitution

11th August 2020   For the sake of authenticity and thus validity, Nigeria’s Constitution must truly be made by the people, and not be imposed upon the people (unawares) as was the 1999 Constitution. In the past twenty-one years much has been written about the forgery that the 1999 Constitution is. Briefly, “We the people” did not prepare or agree any part of this Constitution as falsely claimed in its preamble. Furthermore, the current Nigeria is not a Federation as stated in the Constitution, instead it operates under a Unitary system. These are just two ways that make the 1999 Constitution a clear forgery.   Since the 1999 Constitution is a forgery, it is not binding because it is NULL AND VOID. It therefore cannot be amended but as a forged instrument must be disc...

Edo Governorship Election a Matter of Life and Death for Oshiomhole- Wike

Governor Nyeson Wike, Chairman of the National Campaign Council of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has said Adams Oshiomhole takes the forthcoming governorship election in Edo State as a do-or-die affair. The governor made the remark at a press briefing in Rivers State capital, Port Harcourt, on Monday. He said, "The best he (Oshiomhole) could do is to lay low and let Ize-Iyamu campaign. You can see that if Ize-Iyamu talks for two minutes, Oshiomhole will talk for 20 minutes because he knows this election will determine whether he will remain in politics or not. Wike said the election presents the Oshiomhole’s only hope of remaining relevant in the Edo political landscape given his lack of influence at the national leadership of the APC. "So, he takes it as a do-or-die mat...

Let the Southerners also have eight years. “If you look at how I am, I don’t t...

Thugs or Doctors: NMA and Another Challenged System

It would seem a familiar scene in Nigeria to witness a squabble and exchange of punches in a motor park. But the events that took place at Michael Okpara Square in Enugu on Thursday took a different dimension, as medical doctors who ought to be life savers ended up injuring one another. The case of Nigeria can best be related to that of a patient with varied organ challenges. Nigeria is like a patient whose body system needs urgent medical attention but the physicians who ought to attend to the patient are instead chasing after rats in the bush. The Enugu State chapter of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) made a mockery of the medical profession and lent credence to the urgent need for institutions in Nigeria to be put under intensive care, when it turned its supposed election in...
