Breaking: PDP Clinches Ize-Iyamu’s Local Government 

Flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress, Osagie Ize-Iyamu has failed to win his Local Government Area as Godwin Obaseki bettered him. Despite winning his polling unit, Ize-Iyamu failed to deliver the council area. Results announced by INEC showed Ize-Iyamu/APC scored 212,983 while Obaseki/PDP polled 295,296 votes to secure an 82,313 difference between the top contenders. Result from the last LGA is set to determine the winner of the Edo State governorship election, although Obaseki maintains a firm lead.

Edo Decides: Obaseki in Early Lead as INEC Announces Results from 14 Local Government Areas

Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governor Godwin Obaseki has garnered the most vote cast in 14 local government areas as INEC continues announcement of results for the Edo State governorship election. Obaseki is leading his closes rival, Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the opposition All Progressive Congress. Results from 14 local government areas announced so far by the Independent National Electoral Commission show that Obaseki scored a total of 254,169 while Ize-Iyamu polled 163,429. Results from the remaining eight LGAs will determine the ultimate winner of the keenly contested election. PDP Alleges Plot by APC to Alter Edo Election Result

The Peoples Democratic Party has accused the All Progressive Congress of mounting pressure on Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to change result of the Edo State governorship election. This was contained in a stamen by National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan who alleged that the APC was pressuring on INEC to increase the result of the party in some polling units to APC’s favour. APC Runs Riot at Oshiomhole’s Poling Unit, Floors PDP

The All Progressive Congress (APC) flag bearer in the Edo State gubernatorial election, Osagie Ize-Iyamu defeated won the polling unit of the immediate former National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole with a land slide margin. According to result announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the APC polled 1,201 at Ward 10, PU 001, Estako West Local Government Area. Political actors in the Edo State gubernatorial eagerly await the announcement of the winner as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) commences collation of results from polling units.
