The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has announced governor Godwin Obaseki as the winner of Edo State governorship election held on Saturday. The victory meant Obaseki has secured a second term in office after seeing off contest from his opponents with a wide margin. INEC disclosed Obaseki’s victory on Sunday afternoon after he polled the highest number of votes in the Edo election. He had some health issue on Friday and was taken to hospital where he died. His body would soon be transported to Zaria for burial.” He was the 18th Fulani Emir of Zazzau.
