Top government officials in Kenya will be made to take lie detector tests in the government's bid to fight corruption in the country. While announcing this, President Uhuru Kenyatta the test will be used to ascertain the integrity of its officials. He also said this move was one of the many processes the government will put in place in the fight against corruption. South Africa: Girl School’s Naked Cultural Performance Sparks Outrage

A video of some school girls performing at a competition wearing very skimpy outfits, has sparked serious outrage. The outfit which leaves the breasts and buttocks exposed is known as "inkciyo" and is a traditional wear of the Xhosa ethnic group, the second largest ethnic group in South Africa. Following the outrage, the choirmaster of the school said he was proud of their performance. According to him, "We are proud of our Xhosa tradition. We are proud of 'inkciyo'. Uganda: President Museveni Imposes Tax on Social Media Usage to Curb Gossip

A new law has been passed by the Ugandan parliament to impose a social media tax on its citizens. The law which is billed to take effect from 1 July will see Ugandans paying 200 shillings ($0.05) as daily levy for the use of social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter and others. While pushing for the law, President Yoweri Museveni said that the use of these social media platforms greatly increased gossip. The President said the funds that will be generated from this tax will help the government manage the effects of gossip locally known as "olugambo". A Nigerian came on Twitter to offer a cash price of N20,000 to anyone who could name a project that was initiated and completed by this administration in its three years in office. The criteria was that the project must be physical and not a body language project. Other Nigerians added more cash incentives raising the total cash price to N70,000. The offer started yesterday 28th March 2018 and ends by 12 noon today 29th March 2018. As at the time of this publication, no one had been able to give any project initiated and completed by this administration in its three years of existence.
