Breaking News: Tribunal Declares PDP Winner of Osun Gubernatorial Election

The Election Petitions Tribunal set up for the 2018 governorship election in Osun State has declared Ademola Adeleke winner of the election. The three-member panel said during its ruling in Abuja Friday afternoon that the rerun election that held on September 27, 2018, was illegal. The tribunal, therefore, deducted the votes scored by the APC candidate Gboyega Oyetola at the rerun after declaring the rerun illegal. In a response to the reports the U.S on the 2019 general elections, INEC has said that there is no country in the world that has a perfect election. This response was given by Rotimi Oyekanmi, Chief Press Secretary to INEC Chairman. It will be recalled that the U.S and other international observers had made some observations that scored the last elections quite low. The Federal Government, on Thursday, closed its case against the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen, after it produced only three witnesses that testified before the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT. Though FG initially expressed its intention to produce a total of six witnesses to substantiate all the allegations it levelled against the embattled CJN, however, shortly after the third witness was discharged, the prosecution counsel told the tribunal that it would be unnecessary to call further witnesses. Some details of the petition filed on Monday by the Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate in the February 23 election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to challenge the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari and his All Progressives Congress, emerged on Tuesday. Nigeria: INEC Postpones Election Result Announcement to 11am Monday

The Independent Electoral Commission has postponed to opening of the national collation center to 11am Monday morning. The commission had earlier told reporters that the collation center will be opening bu 6pm on Sunday 24th February 2019. With this shift, Nigerian's are concerned about what could happen to the results in the intervening hours. According to Professor Mahmood Yakubu, the reason for the postponement was because no state returning officer had gotten to Abuja with their results. Nigeria: Google Issues a Statement on Inaccurate Currency Converter Issue with the Naira

Following the curious 50% drop recorded in Nigeria's exchange rate on Google's currency converter yesterday, Google has issued a statement. In a tweet, the IT giant twitted that they were aware of the situation and will remove the converter box until the issue is resolved. The rate normalized shortly after but not before sparking off some theories as to what could have exactly happened."We’re aware of an issue causing inaccurate conversions for Nigerian Naira currency, so we will remove the conversion onebox from appearing in search results until we are able to diagnose the issue."
