ASUU Strike: Unease As Electricity Workers Declare Readiness To Join NLC Protest
Power sector workers have declared readiness to join the protest scheduled by the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, to persuade the federal government to resolve the lingering strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.
The workers under the auspices of the National Union of Electricity Employees, NUEE, confirmed its readiness in a memo issued by its General Secretary, Joe Ajaero, after a meeting of the central working committee and national working committee.
According to the memo, all members were directed to “massively mobilise and actively participate in the NLC/ASUU solidarity protest”.
Ajaero called on vice presidents, state/administrative councils and chapter secretaries to collaborate with the leadership of state executive councils for “a successful outing”...
