With the presidential, governorship and National Assembly primaries of both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) close by, the intense intrigues and political maneuverings by the parties have pushed the opposition PDP away from the Eagle Square to the MKO Abiola Stadium on the outskirts of the Abuja City Centre. Bandits Abduct Motorists On Abuja – Kaduna Highway

Several passengers were feared abducted Tuesday evening after bandits attacked motorists on Abuja – Kaduna highway. A motorist, who escaped being abducted, told BBC Hausa that the bandits struck around Katari axis some minutes after 4 p.m. “The bandits blocked both lanes and started shooting in the air to force drivers to stop,” he said. The anonymous source said he saw several empty vehicles, especially on the Kaduna-bound Lane of the road. Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said there is no error in its scoring system with regards to the just concluded 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. It warned the general public, particularly candidates to be wary of the guile and other unsavory activities of fraudsters who are making false claims of errors in the scoring of candidates in the 2022 UTME. JAMB maintained that the UTME is a computer-based test that is scored electronically with no human mediation whatsoever. Timetable: INEC Talks Tough As 18 Parties Fail To Conduct Primaries

INEC The Independent National Electoral Commission has vowed not to extend the June 3, 2022 deadline for primaries even as an observation on Monday showed that none of the 18 political parties had conducted their presidential primaries three weeks to the deadline. A document obtained from INEC on Monday showed that the Accord Party scheduled its primaries for June 2 while the Action Alliance fixed its own for June 3. The African Action Congress is also expected to hold its own on June 3 while the African Democratic Congress and the Action Democratic Party will hold theirs on June 1 and May 30 respectively. EFCC Arrests Accountant General, Idris For Alleged N80b Fraud

EFCC Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested serving Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), Ahmed Idris, in connection with diversion of funds and money laundering activities to the tune of N80 billion. He was arrested yesterday in Kano State and was immediately moved to Abuja last night. EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the arrest in a statement.
