There is trouble brewing within the Labour Party (LP), as Jude Ezenwafor, a former chairman of the party in Anambra State, has been declared the winner of the presidential primary organised by a faction of the party. Tinubu To Meet APC Govs As Race For Running Mate Begins

The All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and his counterpart in the Peoples Democratic Party, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, on Wednesday began the search for their running mates. The spokesman for the Tinubu Campaign Organisation, Mr Bayo Onanuga, in an interview, said the APC presidential candidate would meet the APC governors whom he said would pick the former Lagos State governor’s running mate. The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions has said no tangible achievement was recorded at the Federal Government Renegotiation Panel. Speaking in an interview on Tuesday, the National Vice-President, SSANU, Dr. Abdussobur Salaam, said the panel met only once with SSANU since it was inaugurated on March 7, 2022. Women in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo state, who were mostly traders at the popular Oja Oba Market in Owo, Ondo State, staged a protest Tuesday to mourn victims of the shooting at Saint Francis Catholic Church, Owo. The women marched to the church where the incident had occurred. Armed with knives and leaves, the protesters performed traditional rites at the market, invoking the god of Iron (Ogùn) to go after the assailants. They also rained curses on the gunmen.
