Sunday Igboho Released From Benin Prison

Popular activist, Sunday Igboho has been released. According to Maxwell Adeleye, a spokesman for Igboho, the Yoruba separatist has been set free from the custody of Benin Republic authorities. In a statement on Facebook on Monday morning, Adeleye wrote: "Yoruba Nation Activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, fondly called Sunday Ighoho, has been released by the Government of Republic of Benin." "The Activist was released on Monday to a Yoruba Leader and Leader of the Umbrella body of Yoruba Self-determination Groups, Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide, Professor Banji Akintoye and a French Language Expert/ Deputy Alana of Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide, Professor Wale Adeniran." “My Health Has Deteriorated” – Abba Kyari Says As Court Refuses To Release Him

Embattled Police Officer, Abba kyari has claimed that his health has deteriorated badly since his detention by the National Drug law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA. It was gathered that Kyari, a deputy commissioner of Police, dragged the Federal Government to court seeking his release. it would be recalled that Kyari was arrested last week and handed over to the NDLEA over his involvement in Cocaine Trafficking. Kyari entered hot water after he attempted to bribe an NDLEA agent with $61,000 to facilitate the release of 17 KG of seized Cocaine. He was arrested alongside four others. The embattled Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, has claimed that members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Eastern Security Network (ESN) are behind his travails due to the onslaught launched against them in the South East. Kyari was said to have made this claim when he appeared before a probe panel led by Joseph Egbunike, a Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) at the Force Headquarters. The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, has urged the Chairman of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brig-Gen Buba Marwa (retd), to immediately arrest officers of the anti-narcotic agency involved in drug crimes with accomplices of suspended cop, Abba Kyari. The police boss made this known in a statement on Monday while announcing the arrest of Kyari and four other police officers fingered by the NDLEA in drug-related crimes. NDLEA arrests 12 dockworkers linked to N9.5bn seized cocaine

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has confirmed the arrest of 12 dockworkers at the Apapa Seaport, Lagos linked to the importation of N9.5 billion cocaine. This is contained in a statement issued by the Director, Media and Advocacy, Mr Femi Babafemi, on Saturday in Abuja. A Federal High Court in Lagos had granted an application by NDLEA for the interim attachment of a vessel MV Chayanee Naree used to import the 32.9 kilograms of cocaine into Nigeria through the port. Besides the attachment order, the court also granted NDLEA’s request to detain the master of the ship, Mr Tanahan Krilerk. Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested here armed bandits on an alleged mission Katsina State. The suspects: Adamu Shehu, Tukur Mohammed, and Ibrahim Suleiman were reportedly in possession of three AK-47 rifles and other dangerous items. The NDLEA officials also arrested an alleged manufacturer of heavy weapons, Celestine Chidiebere Christian, with a high calibre G3 rifle, seventy-eight (78) rounds of life ammunition (RLA) of 7.62mm calibre, and five empty shells. The Department of State Services has said Yoruba rights activist Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho escaped when the secret police raided his Ibadan residence because there was a gun duel between DSS operatives and Igboho’s guards which lasted for an hour. The DSS also paraded 12 of Igboho’s followers in Abuja on Thursday, saying one other was being profiled.
