Kogi Confirms Explosion During Buhari’s Visit, Names Suspects

The Kogi State government has confirmed the explosion which rocked the state during a visit by President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday. The state government blamed the explosion on “enemies of progress” and misguided politicians”. Recall that an explosion was reported around a community in Okene Local Government Area, LGA, of the State on Thursday morning. The incident occurred at a mosque near the palace of Ado Ibrahim, the paramount ruler of Ebiraland.   The development took place while President Buhari was in the area to inaugurate projects executed by the state government. I Don’t Visit Abuja for Solutions to Insecurity – Yahaya Bello

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has said he does not visit ‘Abuja’ for solutions to tackle the security challenges the state is battling with including the farmer-herder clashes prevalent in several parts of the country. Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State paid a private visit to the Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC), Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, mni, MFR, FNAL, where he revealed the plan of his administration to float a specialised Confluence University of Science and Technology as its second state University. Governor Bello said the idea behind the university, whose Bill had already been passed into Law by the State Assembly, was to have a specialised institution that addressed the peculiar needs of the state’s immediate environment.
