EFCC Arrests Hafsat Ganduje, Wife Of The Governor Of Kano

Hafsat Ganduje, the wife of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, has been arrested by the EFCC over a bribery and land fraud case reported by her son. The arrest comes weeks after her failure to honor the anti-graft agency’s invitation. Mrs Ganduje had earlier been invited to report to the EFCC’s Abuja headquarters on September 13 but she did not appear and the EFCC then threatened to arrest her. Abdulazeez, Ganduje’s Son Flees To Egypt After Reporting His Mother To EFCC

Abdulazeez Ganduje, the first son of the Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, has fled to Egypt with his family after exposing his mother’s alleged corruption. Mr Abdulazeez had dragged his mum, Hafsat Ganduje, to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, for alleged corruption. The governor’s son had petitioned that he was approached by a property developer to help facilitate the acquisition of some plots of land in Kano with some hundreds of thousands of US dollars and at least 35 million Naira as “facilitation commission”. Hisbah Arrests Sadiya Haruna For Uploading ‘Sexual Content’

The Kano State Hisbah Board has docked a Kannywood actress and social media blogger, Sadiya Haruna, for “uploading sexual contents on her social media handles.” The actress, Haruna, a resident of Kabuga Quarters was initially arrested on Friday by the Head of Surveillance Department of Kano State Hisbah Board, Malam Aliyu Usman. She was then detained in the custody of the Islamic police until early Monday when she was brought before the Sharia court sitting in Sharada area of the state. Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has banned political thugs at events and gatherings across the state. Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje on Tuesday gave reasons why he dethroned Alhaji Muhammadu Lamido Sanusi as the Emir of Kano. The governor said he took the decision to save the system and the traditional institution from abuse. The Kano Governor said: “Jonathan took a bold step in sacking Sanusi as CBN Governor, which created bad blood in certain circles. “When Sanusi said $49 billion was lost in Jonathan’s government, I said in my mind that No, you could have discussed with him (Jonathan) privately. “You could have given him this clue and then he would know how to investigate even before those who had stolen the money would find a way of hiding the money.
