40-Year-Old Jobless Man Defiles 15-Year-Old Girl

A 40-year-old jobless man, George Ukpong, has been remanded by an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court on Thursday in Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly defiling a 15-year-old girl. According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the Magistrate, Mrs E. Kubeinje, who did not entertain Ukpong’s plea, ordered that the case file be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions, DPP, for legal advice. Court Sentences Obasanjo’s In-law To Seven Years Imprisonment

John Abebe, a businessman, has been sentenced to seven years in prison by a Lagos state special offences court in Ikeja for forging a document belonging to an oil company. Ruling on the suit on Saturday, the judge, Mojisola Dada, gave an option of a fine of N50 million to be paid within 30 days in place of imprisonment. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, had in 2018 arraigned Abebe, a younger brother of the late Stella Obasanjo, former first lady, on four counts. An Ajah Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State has remanded a 42-year-old lawyer, Nzeteh Reagan, in the Ikoyi Custodial Centre for failing to account for the whereabouts of a suspect, Simon Odeh, accused of N16m fraud. Tiktokers To Be Flogged In Kano For Defaming Ganduje

The Kano State Magistrates’ Court in its ruling on Monday ordered the flogging of two comedians identified as Mubarak Muhammad, and Zazifi Bala, for abusing Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State on their Tiktok handles. According to Magistrate Aminu Gabari, in his ruling on Monday, the duo should be given 20 lashes for their offense and will sweep and wash toilets in the surroundings of the court for a period of 30 days. The Magistrate ordered that the individuals be publicly flogged. The convicts were also ordered to pay a fine of N10,00 each for defaming Ganduje and a further N10,00 for causing public disturbance.
