N80bn: Accountant-General’s Arrest Proves IPPIS is Fraud – ASUU

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has said the arrest of the Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has buttressed its notion that IPPIS is fraud. The union said this while reacting to Idris’s arrest over alleged money laundering and diversion of N80bn. Varsity Workers Won’t be Cowed into Enrolling on IPPIS – ASUU Tells FG

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), accused the Federal Government of engaging in blackmail of its workers into enrolling on the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS). Dr Austen Sado, Chairman of the University of Port Harcourt Branch of ASUU, on Sunday said members of the union will not be pushed into enrolling on IPPIS despite some of its members not being paid salaries since February. Sado spoke in reaction to the order stopping the salaries of university workers who are yet to enroll on IPPIS.
