Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer Reacts To Claims IPOB Leader Was Given Document To Sign As Condition Of His Freedom

Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the lead counsel for the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has debunked a claim making the rounds on social media that his client was given a document to sign as a condition of his freedom. A story had circulated on Twitter on Thursday that the Nigerian government provided a document for the separatist leader to sign, but that he rejected it. The IPOB leader's lawyer, however, described it as fake news meant to create panic among pro-Biafra agitators. Nigeria’s Electoral Body, INEC Rules Out Dialogue With IPOB, ESN

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has ruled out the possibility of engaging the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and the Eastern Security Network, ESN ahead of the November 6 governorship election in Anambra State. The commission noted that it wouldn’t go out of its way to engage IPOB and ESN that had been outlawed by the Muhammadu Buhari regime. The federal government and the attorney-general of the federation (AGF) have asked the high court of Abia state for an extension of time to enable them file processes in the suit instituted by Nnamdi Kanu. Nnamdi Kanu Files Suit Against Kenya Over Extradition to Nigeria

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has sued Kenya over his extradition to Nigeria. The pro-Biafra activist’s brother, Kingsley Kanunta, sued on his behalf, according to court papers obtained by our correspondent In his petition presented by Luchiri and Company Advocates, Kanu argued that his arrest in Kenya and subsequent extradition to Nigeria in June were unconstitutional. DSS Stopped American Lawyer, Others From Visiting Kanu —Counsel

Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Lead Counsel for the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has said that the Department of State Services stopped the detainee from seeing his lawyers on Thursday. Ejiofor, in a statement on Friday, said the secret police denied himself and other lawyers including “IPOB’s Attorney in the United States, Bruce Fein”, from meeting with Kanu. He described the denial as a violation of the order of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja which ordered that the DSS should allow the lawyers to visit Kanu twice a week. The Police in Ghana have allegedly arrested some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, while meeting in Accra, the Ghanaian capital.
