Ebonyi Government Threatens To Punish Residents Who Will Obey Sit-At-Home Order

Ebonyi State government has warned residents of the state against obeying the sit-at-home order issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), ahead of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu's court outing, IGBERETV reports. IPOB’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful had announced that a sit-at-home protest will be observed in all states in the South-East region on Tuesday January 18, the scheduled date for continuation of trial of the proscribed group's leader. Detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has asked the United Nations, Governments of the United States of America and United Kingdom to send representatives to witness the seven-count amended charge preferred against him and pending at the Federal High Court, Abuja Division due to continue on the 18th, 19th and 20th of January, 2022. In June 2021, the IPOB leader was arrested in Kenya and extradited to Nigeria to face treason charges. Traitors, Saboteurs Met, Told Buhari Not To Release Kanu – IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra has said saboteurs and traitors within its ranks are the ones forcing President Muhammadu Buhari, not to release its leader, Nnamdi Kanu. In a statement on Sunday, the group’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Mr Emma Powerful, claimed that the alleged saboteurs and traitors held a meeting with Buhari and advised the President not to release Kanu. The statement also claimed that the “enemies of the freedom struggle,” after meeting the President in Aso Rock, misinformed him that IPOB and the Eastern Security Network had been defeated. Ike Ekweremadu Visits Nnamdi Kanu With Some Igbo Leaders

Former Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, has said that he visited leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, in the custody of the Department of State Services.
