Seven Wedding Guests Killed by Suspected Gunmen in Imo

Seven wedding guests have reportedly been killed in Imo State by gunmen suspected to be Ebubeagu Security Operatives on Sunday. The Incident caused unrest in the state as the news surfaced on Monday. The wedding guests were returning from a traditional wedding that took place in Awommamaa in Oru West Local Government Area and they were heading back to their community in Otulu in Oru East Local Government Area. Directors in the Imo State civil service will now take promotion examinations before being promoted to permanent secretaries. Governor Hope Uzodimma, who announced this on Monday during the commemoration of his one year in office in Owerri, said appointing directors as acting permanent secretaries in the state ministries, departments and agencies was a violation of the civil service rule and would therefore no longer be tolerated by his administration.
