Breaking: Gunmen Behead Imo LG Boss Despite Collecting N6m Ransom

Gunmen have beheaded the sole Administrator of Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State, Chris Ohizu, who was abducted. The LG boss was murdered on Sunday after his captives were allegedly paid N6 million as ransom.    Video of his beheading trended on social media on Sunday, where his abductors insisted that there won’t be election in the country. Gunmen Burn Court In Imo – Second Incident In 24 Hours

Gunmen have set ablaze the magistrate court in Owerri, Imo State capital on Sunday afternoon. Reports say that no life was lost in the incident. The incident could not be confirmed by the Imo police spokesperson, Michael Abattam, as he did not respond to calls and messages when contacted. Meanwhile, the incident happened hours after a similar development. Gunmen had on Saturday set ablaze the high court in Orlu Local Government Area, LGA, of the state. The latest arson on courts follows the torching of several government facilities in the state which has resulted in the loss of lives and properties. Refinery Explosion in Imo A former governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha has asked the Nigerian government to investigate the recent fire incident at an illegal oil refinery in the state.He said this in a statement issued on Monday by his media aide, Chibuike Onyeukwu.On Friday, an explosion occurred at an illegal oil refining site in Ohaji/Egbema area of Imo state, with at least 110 people reported to have been burnt to death.The development comes amid concerns by stakeholders on the effects of oil bunkering across the country.Ihedioha expressed shock and sadness at the development.He described the incident as “unfortunate and avoidable, while calling for full investigation and prosecution of all those behind the carnage to avert future occurrence.” Read Also: Imo To Conduct Mass B...
