Peter Obi Anambra State former Governor Peter Obi has advised the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP’s) delegates to collect the money offered by aspirants, but should think about their children’s future when voting for their preferred candidate. Obi, a presidential aspirant in the PDP, who said he was on a mission to stop monetisation of the political process, noted that he would not give money to delegates. Lack Of TRCN Registration: 300,000 Teachers May Miss New Welfare Package

Classroom No fewer than 300,000 teachers in public primary and secondary schools in the country may miss benefiting from the new welfare package the government wants to implement for teachers in its payroll. Findings by the Vanguard revealed that the development is because such teachers are not licensed, certificated and registered by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, TRCN.It was gathered that the government has made registration with the TRCN a condition for benefiting from the scheme. Alaafin Of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, Dies at 83

Lamidi-Olayiwola-Adeyemi-III The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, has passed on. He was 83 years old. The top Yoruba monarch died in the late hours of Friday, according to palace officials. Adeyemi died at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti. The late Alaafin’s first son, Prince ‘Tunde, and other children had received the monarch’s remains at Idi-Igba, Oyo town early Saturday morning. Palace sources confirmed that traditional rites had begun without giving details about his burial arrangement yet. Adeyemi ruled for 52 years before his demise, making him the longest-reigning Alaafin.
