Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, says the news of a large deposit of gold discovered in the state is false. A publication recently claimed that a gold reserve was discovered in the state and was estimated to be over 20 million tonnes which is valued at over $900 trillion. According to the alleged false report, Governor Soludo, who was described as the chairman of the South East Governor’s Forum, disclosed to journalists that gold was discovered at Ehamufu. The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has prohibited the movement and open grazing of cattle in all parts of Anambra State. Governor Soludo made the decision with the members of the Anambra State Cattle Menace Committee at the Government House in Awaka, He said the ban was to complement the 2021 anti-open grazing law of the State. He also assured that the newly implemented law would be enforced and effective from September.
