World Cup: Croatia Through to the Finals, Wins England 2:1

Croatia this evening sailed into the finals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup after winning England 2:1 after extra time. Despite taking an early lead through a 5th minute Trippier goal, England gave up their lead in 68th minute when Perisic stabbed in Croatia's equalizer from a cross. After the game was levelled, Croatia had more chances to bury the game, with Ivan Perisic's shot hitting the inside of the upright. The game continued into extra time and in the 109th minute, Mandzukic scored the winner for Croatia. Englad tried but could do nothing in the remaining minutes, thereby confirming Croatia's place in the finals. Premiership: Mahrez Finally Join ManCity for £60 million

Premiership champions Manchester City has finally signed Riyad Mahrez from Leicester for £60 million on a 5-year deal. This amount is about €68m or $80m. The signing finally put to rest the transfer saga that started in January which even saw the player boycotting some training sessions for his now former club. Speaking after his signing, Mahrez said "I am so pleased to have joined City, a side playing great football under Pep Guardiola." Mahrez becomes ManCity's first big-money signing this season.

World Cup: Russia’s World Cup Ends as they Lose 3:4 on Penalties to Croatia

Despite scoring the first goal of the match, hosts Russia lost the game 3:4 on penalties to Croatia. After Cheryshev put Russia ahead in the 31st minute, it only took the Croatians 8 minutes to level the score through Kramaric's 39th minute header. The rest of regulation saw no goals from both sides despite their best efforts. Going into extra time, Vida headed in the winner for Croatia in the 101st minute, sending Croatia into the lead. Russia however equalized in the 115th minute through Fernandes, sending the game into penalties. World Cup: Brazil Crashes Out, Loses 1:2 to Belgium

The Brazilian team were this evening knocked out at the quarter finals of the World Cup after they lost 1:2 to Belgium. A 13th minute own goal by Fernandinho set the Belgians on course for the win. De Bruyne fired in the second for the Belgians in the 31 minutes, bringing the score to 2:0 which was how the first half ended. In the second half, Brazil made some changes and began to make a greater impact on the game. Their effort was rewarded in the 76th when Augusto nodded in a well placed Coutinho pass. Augusto missed another clear chance to bring the game level, as did Coutinho some minutes later. With this win, Belgium will now face France in the semi finals.

World Cup: England Escapes Narrowly, Wins Colombia on Penalties

England escaped a possible defeat to Colombia after the match went into extra time. The English team had taken the lead in the second half (having played a goalless first half) through a Harry Kane 57th minute penalty. It looked like the English were home and dry until Colombia's tall defender, Mina nodded in an equalizer in the 3rd minute of the 5 minute added time. This took the game into extra time. World Cup: Brazil Edges Out Mexico 2:0 to Advance to the Quarter Finals

The Samba boys beat the Mexican team by 2:0 to advance to the quarter finals of the World Cup. Both teams played out a goalless first half with the Mexicans enjoying more of the ball possession. In the second half, Neymar put Brazil in the lead in the 51st minute while Firmino doubled the lead in the 88 minute.
