Lagos Public Works Begins Massive Roads Rehabilitation

In fulfilment of Lagos State governor,  Babajide  Sanwo-Olu on zero tolerance  for potholes, the Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC)  has commenced full-scale routine repair and rehabilitation of roads across the state. Engr. Olufemi Daramola, the General Manager of LSPWC, disclosed this on Wednesday during an inspection tour of ongoing rehabilitation of Iju road, said the Corporation has been providing palliatives with the use of boulders and crush stones on strategic roads across the state to ensure free flow of traffic in spite of incessant rainfall witnessed in Lagos in the past few weeks. Lekki Toll: Lagos Residents, Motorists Commends Sanwo-Olu’s Decision on Electronic System

Residents and motorist in Lagos have commended the State Government for proposing a "touch and go" electronic payment system that will allow motorists pass quickly at the toll plaza of Lekki-Ikoyi Link bridge. It would be recalled that the  State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Wednesday announced that the mode of toll collection at the bridge would completely go electronic by October this year, saying that the development was part of efforts to ensure free flow of traffic within the axis. Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has made a U-turn, insisting that he never promised to solve the Apapa gridlock crisis in 60 days. The governor said this while fielding questions from State House correspondents in Abuja on Tuesday. The Lagos State Government on Monday announced the closure of the road from Mile 2 to Tincan Island Ports with immediate effect. The closure which is to allow for palliative repair works on the corridor will last for 48 hours. The Lagos State Building Control Agency has sealed a zonal headquarters of the Redeemed Christian Church of God under construction in Ajegunle, a hotel in Ikeja and six other buildings for illegal development and breaking government seal. The RCCG parish, located on Old Ojo Road in Ajegunle, was accused of breaking government’s seal after a stop-work notice was served. Four other buildings on Old Ojo Road were sealed for the same offence. A shopping centre in Ajeromi was also sealed for erecting a third floor without approval.
