13 Passengers Burnt To Death In Enugu Auto Crash  

No fewer than 13 passengers were torched beyond recognition in an auto crash close to the Four-Corners Enugu around 9 pm on Sunday. The road mishap occurred when a 14-seater bus which was traveling from Imo State to Adamawa, ran into a trainer before catching fire. Chijioke Edeoga Emerges LP Enugu Guber Candidate

Hon. Chijioke Edeoga, former Enugu Stat commissioner for environment, has become the governorship candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the State. Recall that Edeoga vied for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ticket in the governorship primary but lost to Barr. Peter Mbah. He confirmed his emergence as the LP candidate on Sunday after initial speculations in the early hours of Sunday. The headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Enugu has been set ablaze on Sunday night with some vehicles razed. This comes barely 48 hours after an office of the commission in Udenu Local Government Area went up in flames. Reports say the arsonists numbering about seven stormed the commission situated near Enugu State Broadcasting Service at Independence Layout in a Mini-Bus and ignited fire to six Hilux vehicles, five of which were completely razed. The sixth was partially destroyed. They reportedly tried to set buildings in the premises ablaze but were resisted by armed security operatives guarding the premises. Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has imposed a curfew on the Oruku Community, in Nkanu East Local Government Area of the State. The action followed the crisis that greeted the murder of the traditional ruler of the Oruku community, HRH Igwe Emmanuel Chidiebere Mba, on December 26, 2020, which is subject of an ongoing Judicial Commission of Injury, and the recent gruesome murder of the Vice-Chairman of Oruku Town Union Caretaker Committee, Chief Samuel Ani.
