Red Cross Advocates for Safe Motherhood as Women Conclude August Meeting
The Nigerian Red Cross Society in Enugu State have sensitised women of Agulu, Umana community in Ezeagu Local Government Area (LGA) on safe pregnancy practices and hygiene promotion on the occasion of their just concluded annual August Conference.
Speaking during the exercise, the Health Coordinator of the Red Cross in the state, Mrs. Jessie Maduekwe admonished the women to imbibe the habit of good personal and environmental hygiene which she said is a "win for everyone except the germs."
Maduekwe who further described safe motherhood as a time of expectation and joy for a woman, her family and the entire community stressed the need for expecting mothers to take good care of themselves during pregnancy by ensuring healthy nutritious diet and ante-natal care.
