Lagos Emergency Workers Protests, Demand 5 Month Unpaid Salary

Some members of staff of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency Response Unit (LRU) on Friday protested demanding the payment of over five months' salary arrears owed by the Lagos State government. The protest which was staged at Alausa, Ikeja saw the staff with placard of various inscriptions The report gathered that the large number of workers who had reportedly stopped reporting for work, the number of agents at the LRU call centre had been depleted. Kwara Donates Land for Federal Fire Service School, Regional Office

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has agreed to allocate land for the establishment of the proposed Federal Fire Training School and regional office for the north central to be sighted in Ilorin, the state capital. In a statement released by Rafiu Ajakaye, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor on Wednesday said additional fire service stations would be established in the northern senatorial district to complement the ones in Ilorin, in the central, and those in Omu Aran and Offa in the south. Three-storey Building Collapses in Lagos

A three-storey has reportedly collapsed in the Ososa area of Bariga, Lagos State. The building collapsed around 9.30pm on Sunday. According to the Eye witness, six people had been rescued, and that many more might be trapped in the rubble. Residents said men of the Lagos State Fire Service were already on the ground, but were unable to gain entry yet, because the road to the scene is really bad. He said, “I stay around the area; the building that collapsed is a residential building and the incident happened around 9.30pm.
