Kano LP Governorship Candidate Decamps To Opposition Party

Bashir Bashir, the governorship flagbearer of the Labour Party, LP, in Kabno State has dumped the party for the All Progressives Congress, APC. According to an associate of Bashir who spoke to TheCable under the condition of anonymity, on Sunday night, that the defection was informed by the “exclusion of major northern stakeholders in the decision-making process of the party’s campaign”. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced an extension of the deadline for the collection of permanent voter cards, PVCs. This marks the second time the electoral umpire will extend the deadline for PVC collection. The collection was scheduled to stop on January 29.
